In an attempt to prevent a recurrence of their 7-1 humiliation at Borussia Dortmund in their most recent European match, Brendan Rodgers lined up his squad to defend deep. He was defiant when his players came up with the ideal response.

"It gives them the confidence that they can defend against a top team," the Celtic manager stated following the match. Celtic held Europa League winners Atalanta to a goalless draw in Bergamo, preserving their first Champions League clean sheet in seven years.

Arne Slot vs Jurgen Klopp

For all of the football fans that have been watching the premier league this weekend I can't quite understand how Arne Slot has came into Liverpool Football club and has been on a great run of form with having 8 games played winning 7 and losing one but impressively being top of the table and having the best defence in the league. In this post I will be comparing how Arne is different from Jurgen Klopp who was the previous manager of the club who had a great 9 year stint with the club winning every trophy available. 1. Pressing and Defensive Style: Arne Slot : Slot employs an aggressive pressing system, similar to Klopp, but with a more structured and coordinated approach. Slot focuses on pressing as a unit, emphasizing compactness and minimizing space between the lines. His teams often press high but also drop into a mid-block when needed, aiming to control transitions and prevent counterattacks. Jürgen Klopp : Klopp’s signature gegenpressing style is more relentless and high-ris...

The "Inverted fullback"

The tactical evolution of modern football has changed the way teams and players perform. Why have they grown to be such an effective tool for some of the world's top teams, and how do they operate? This post explores deeply into the idea of inverted fullbacks, analysing their function, advantages, difficulties, and tactical theories. Ange at Spurs: Inverted Fullbacks: What Are They? Fullbacks were traditionally tasked with providing width and delivering crosses into the box in order to support attacks and defend wide areas. But over time, fullbacks' roles have changed significantly, especially with the emergence of inverted fullbacks. When their team is in possession, an inverted fullback shifts...

Chelsea Vs Tottenham Premier League derby

The story of a complete bottle job from Spurs. This Sunday passed, Spurs hosted Chelsea in what was a crazy encounter in the Premier League. Chelsea's remarkable comeback from a two-goal deficit to win at Tottenham was completed by Cole Palmer's cool 'Panenka' penalty. Spurs got off to a quick start but then faltered and lost, adding to the recent suffering for under-fire manager Ange Postecoglou. Goals from Jadon Sancho and Enzo Fernandez, as well as two penalty kicks from Palmer, put an end to the team. The game had slipped away from Tottenham by the time Son Heung-min added their third goal in stoppage time, after Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski had put them ahead 2-0 in 11 minutes. Chelsea's victory puts them only four points behind leaders Liverpool in the Premier League, whose match against Everton on Saturday was postponed due to Storm Darragh. Spurs had a frantic start at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and five minutes after Brennan Johnson took adva...
